Virginia auto insurance requirements
50/100/25 for policies issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 (up from 30/60/20). Since July 1, 2024 drivers can no longer pay the $500 uninsured motor vehicle fee instead of buying insurance. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage is required at no less than the minimum limits; PIP is not required.
State minimums are a legal floor, not a recommendation. One serious accident can exceed them, so we quote higher limits side by side.
Workers' compensation in Virginia
Virginia employers that regularly employ more than two full-time or part-time employees (counting corporate officers) must carry workers' compensation. For contractors, employees of subcontractors doing work in the same trade or to fulfill the contract count toward the total unless the subcontractor carries its own coverage.

Contractors in Virginia
Contractors are licensed statewide by the Virginia Board for Contractors (DPOR) in Class A, B or C based on contract size and annual volume. No state contractor license bond is required.
We write general liability, workers' comp, commercial auto and equipment coverage, issue certificates and additional insured endorsements, and place license and contract bonds. Start with the Contractor General Liability Supplemental.
