New Jersey auto insurance requirements
Standard policy minimums rose to 35/70/25 ($35,000 per person, $70,000 per accident, $25,000 property damage) effective January 1, 2026 (up from 25/50/25 set January 1, 2023). PIP is mandatory (no-fault state; $15,000 minimum, $250,000 default on the standard policy), and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage is mandatory on the standard policy with minimums increased under the same law. The Basic Policy is unchanged: $5,000 property damage and $15,000 PIP, with $10,000 bodily injury liability optional.
State minimums are a legal floor, not a recommendation. One serious accident can exceed them, so we quote higher limits side by side.
Workers' compensation in New Jersey
New Jersey requires all employers not covered by a federal program to carry workers' compensation, regardless of the number of employees.

Contractors in New Jersey
New Jersey does not license general contractors statewide; home improvement contractors must register with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs (NJHIC#) and carry commercial general liability insurance of at least $500,000 per occurrence. No state contractor license bond is required.
We write general liability, workers' comp, commercial auto and equipment coverage, issue certificates and additional insured endorsements, and place license and contract bonds. Start with the Contractor General Liability Supplemental.
